This cabochon-style gemstone was cut from a rough piece of rock that we purchased.
It's highly translucent and exhibits impressive colour and markings.
Having been finely polished to a vitreous lustre, it reflects light beautifully.
It has a minor imperfection in one corner because additional polishing to put it right would have meant losing too much material.
This Larimar gemstone was polished by a craftsman in the UK.
The only place in the world where Larimar is found is the Las Filipinas mine in the Dominican Republic.
