Snowflake Epidote Crystals
Snowflake epidote is a trade name for dark green epidote with distinctive mineral inclusions that create a snowflake-like pattern. The inclusion is reported to be quartz, which commonly occurs alongside epidote in certain geological environments.
Epidote’s characteristic green colour is caused by iron within its crystal structure.
Most snowflake epidote comes from South Africa and Namibia. Its primary use is as an ornamental stone.
These tumbled stones boast excellent colour and markings, and have been highly polished.
Being smaller sizes, they're sold by weight. 30g is approximately 11 stones, but that may vary depending on size.
